Set to arrive later this year, the limited-run, special-edition BMW M4 CS is set to bridge the gap between the BMW M4 Coupé and the BMW M4 GTS Champion. The CS models are a unique offering which display motorsport spirit and performance while remaining 100% road legal.

Groundbreaking design and technology

The front apron with large, three-section air intakes, complete with cutting-edge twin LED headlights is a signature feature of the BMW M4 CS. The air intakes feed an ample supply of cooling air to both the high-performance engine and the fade-resistant M compound brakes. The carbon fibre front-splitter was also designed exclusively for this model. Innovative rear lights with OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) technology are also present for the first time in the BMW M4 CS and BMW M4 GTS models.

Raring to go

From 0 – 100km in 3.9 seconds, the BMW M4 CS is a force to be reckoned with. The 3.0-litre high-performance engine raises the output to 460 hp. With its two mono-scroll turbochargers, charge air cooler, High Precision Injection, VALVETRONIC variable valve timing and Double-VANOS fully variable camshaft timing, the six-cylinder in-line engine is a clear performer. Yet it is equally committed to developing significant torque from low engine speeds and achieving high levels of efficiency (fuel consumption combined: 8.4 l/100 km; CO2 emissions combined: 197 g/km).

The only limit it seems, is the electronic one of 280 km/h.

Racing dynamics

The new BMW M4 CS comes with the seven-speed M Double Clutch Transmission (M DCT) with Drivelogic and Adaptive M suspension, as standard. Enjoy gear changes in fractions of a second with no interruption in the flow of power. The control systems for the Adaptive M suspension, DSC and Active M Differential have also been modified to suit the dynamic requirements of the BMW M4 CS, as has the set-up of the electromechanical steering.

You don’t need to take our word for it, though; with a ‘Ring lap time of 7 minutes and 38 seconds at the legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife, the CS is comfortably in super-sports car territory.

A well-resolved ambience

The interior of the new BMW M4 CS is the epitome of sporting ambience, with Lightweight M sports seats trimmed in leather/Alcantara and trims in compacted natural fibres. There’s no compromise on comfort with standard features like automatic climate control and a customised BMW HiFi system Professional to set the right mood on every drive.
