The range of driver assistance systems have been expanded to pave the way to more autonomous driving with features like Collision and Pedestrian Warning with Braking and Lane Departure Warning, now standard. The optional Driving Assistant Professional will also include: Active Cruise Control with Stop & Go function, Steering and lane control Lane Change Warning, Side collision protection, Evasion aid, Cross-Traffic Alert, Priority warning and Wrong-way warning – to name a few. We’ve used technology to enhance everything from parking and manoeuvring to driving and even being stuck in traffic – but the control remains firmly in your hands as the driver.

Ultimate connectivity

The new BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant is set to be a world-first, even letting you give it its own name and responding to your natural voice commands. It’s designed to help you operate your vehicle, enhance productivity and even organise on-board entertainment while you focus on the road. The all-new BMW 3 Series will also feature two USB ports and Bluetooth interface as standard, with telephony with wireless charging available as an option. You can also look forward to a larger selection of digital services from BMW Connected and BMW ConnectedDrive. Starting with Remote Software Upgrades to keep you up to date and BMW Digital Key which turns your phone into a key to start the engine of your vehicle.

The all-new BMW 3 Series presents a bold new design language of clear lines and taut surfaces which give the car its unique aesthetic, sportiness and emotion-packed presence. Full-LED headlights and stylishly darkened LED rear lights will also come as standard – with a greater focus on driver centered operations and a premium interior ambience. There will be more shoulder and elbow room for added comfort, plus extra legroom and better overall usability for drivers and passengers.

Enhanced power, efficiency and performance

Thanks to the new powertrain technology drivers can look forward to a higher output impressively low combined fuel consumption of 5.8 – 4.2 l/100 km (unconfirmed). Added to that will be optimised aerodynamics with features including Air Curtains and an almost completely sealed underbody. Drivers can also enjoy noticeably sharper driving dynamics courtesy of extensively upgraded chassis technology, new damper technology, stiffer body structure and suspension, wider tracks, minimised weight and a low vehicle centre of gravity.
